Where to Find the Most Reliable Travel Tips Each Tuesday?

Have the travel tips myriads seen on Instagram and Pinterest affected your travel plans? I feel that those really have little to do with how I kyte, though. Planning a trip to Japan, I stumbled upon a Travel Tip Tuesday post about the lesser-known but stunning Nachi Falls. It was here that this tip became one of my favourites for it led me to an isle of deep serenity, deeply off the radar of most tourists, yet nowhere near as remote as I previously imagined.

When is the Best Time to Implement These Travel Tips?

Utilizing the tips at the right juncture could make a whole world of difference. I remember one of the most important pieces of advice that I got which was to visit Santorini not in the summer peak but at the end of September.

It was simple but particular as I had the opportunity to watch and experience a calm island at the time the population is at its low.

To What Extent Can Local Insights Enhance Your Travel?

When travelers bring local insights to their trips, the latter takes the form of a cultural or a lifestyle experience at the destination to wit. A trip to New Orleans took me to an afterhours jazz night in a dive bar not listed in any guidebook after a tip from a local blogger. Being among music and conversation with locals, that evening, encapsulated the soul of the city better than any general sightseeing spot could.

Checking environmental data is one of my constant routines each time I go on trips and thus, this has been the background to which I changed my itinerary to forego the trip to that hole in the area where thick air pollution was a problem.

My personal opinion

The Misadventures of Travel Tip Tuesdays: A Cautionary and Chaotic Tale

Once upon a Travel Tip Tuesday, I decided it was high time I heeded some sage travel advice. That is, the sort that churns on your feed between ads for things you mentioned but didn’t Google – creepy, right? This one was the, er, travel light one. “Carry only what you need!” it proclaimed. Inspired by the teachings of the minimalist manifesto, I packed nothing else aside from swimwear toothpaste and the make-believe conviction. And this is no beach-themed triumph: while travelling with only a bathing suit sounds like a sure-fire summer hit in Moscow in mid-winter, you’ll end up with a lot more frostbite than sunburn. I know e. It was then, as I shivered in the airport, that I recognized my mistake: “Travel light” is sort of metaphorical. Still, there I was, noting to self that I must always download the weather app – a travel beast as necessary as a passport but which I always manage to forget about in my packing palaver. The painful memories of the freezing days have pushed, albeit unwillingly to the mystical cobblestones of Paris wherein I glimpsed the tenderest touch of the local spirit. Armed with another tip—“live like a local”—I got rid of my mere touristy outfit that is drenched and embraced the Parisian look that I think a beret, stripe shirt and a baguette under my arm comprise. I seem to myself as a stereotype placed in the wrong genre but it’s all satire of satire. Strolling along the Seine, I thought I was blending in perfectly.. until a group of actual Questions of people, if she is lost or say the closest mime workshop is located. And here’s where the fun really starts. During this trip, I had planned to visit the Louvre. I had decided to go the road less traveled in my case, by going at a non-peak hour according to a “suggestion” of one of the locals. Turns out, my watch was still set to Moscow time. I got there at 3 AM. Not only was it closed, but I also got to explain to a very amused security guard why I thought I could have the Mona Lisa all to myself. “I wanted to avoid the crowds,” Echoed I in also ironically-soaked statement from the other day. But let’s add a sprinkle of chaos to the mix, shall we? Upon deciding to take a scenic train journey across India, a well-intentioned tip advised me to “travel as the locals do.” And here was I, hanging on to the side of a train, clutching my hat and what was left of my senses to my chest. No rules, like a rollercoaster with dodgy safeties. A thrilling ride, sure, but perhaps a bit too literal on the ‘hanging out’ part. And there is my globe-trotting adventure! Now on to eating things. A tip once told me, “When in Rome, eat as the Romans do.” It was wise advice for me that is till I found out I was in Bangkok, not Rome and instead of mouth-watering Italian foods, I was gazing at a bowl of fried insects. A crunchy conundrum indeed! But as they say, when in Rome—or Bangkok—do as the Romans do? That’s got to be one of the most ambiguous and gastronomically challenging phrases I’ve ever misinterpreted! In the many tragic hilarities of travel in which the reader should dig in one can get a grain of wisdom or at worst, a stomach that aches from laughter. Remember, sometimes the best travel tip is knowing when not to follow one. Next Tuesday, if you accidentally brush against the latest advice blog that’s has recently declared that the key to freedom is skydiving without a parachute because it’s freeing, maybe just take that one with a pinch of salt.
