How to Make the Most of 5 Days in NEW YORK with a Tour Package
Deciding to go for a 5-DAY New York tour was like launching a rocket.
The fact that a WORTHWHILE package has to not only include visits to FAMOUS places but also it has to enrich students in New York’s heritage, thereby deepening their knowledge and appreciation of the city, was an idea I carried all along. This guide was my way of finding a tour package that fitted all my expectations and that gave me the opportunity to make the most of my New York trip. From walking tours of the old towns to evenings on Broadway, every day is going to be a new adventure for me!!
When is the Best Time to Word in New York?? A comic tale of misadventure
On one occasion during a 2-day New York City tour, I made my way to the NOTED museums and parks that the guide had highlighted. But that’s where the misadventure began! To phrase Metropolitan Museum of Art as a subway station was a MAJOR blunder for me – can you believe that I brought along a metro pass instead of a museum ticket to the museum? Thus, meekly said, how could such a scenario even be possible? Well, that was some mix-up! I was oblivious to the fact that the opening of the gift shop marked the beginning of the museum I was trying to enter by way of my metro card! The employees may have believed they were contestants on a HIDDEN-CAMERA program as they watched me struggle to gain entry: Was this considered “live art,” with me as the unwitting performer, or merely an AMUSING new exhibit? You’d think that finally making it inside would make everything OK, wouldn’t you? Wrong! But no.
Imagine my further confusion upon finding myself in a space full of Light Paintings and wondering whether Monet is famous for his ABSTRACT vision – or just his art work! And don’t think things couldn’t get more baffling: At one point a guide spoke of Van Gogh’s ‘Starry Night,’ so I rushed along only to discover it was merely a print in the gift shop. By close of play I’d mistaken exhibits for coat racks; audio guides for mobile phones: My mix-ups gave a whole new meaning to ‘live art.’’ Leaving, I felt equal parts sheepish and enlightened. So, if you do go, remember to make sure it’s a real museum or an ersatz subway station (who says location matters?).). And must you know something to enjoy it? Surely not.
After all, there are plenty of people who wear glasses today who have absolutely no idea how the optic nerves work – but does that invalidate seeing CUTE baby ducks waddle past their bench by the pond?
